Support to these organizations not only helps to further their mission but also strengthen families, communities and helps change our own behaviors by being mindful of not contributing to a discriminatory system of layered marginalization that infringes upon the human rights of many. 

Below is a list of organization you can donate to. The First listed is The Innocence Project.   This organization is near to my heart due to the unfortunate event that occurred on June 15, 1998, when 13-year-old Maurice Purifie was found dead lying in the middle of Horrace Street in Toledo, Ohio. Shortly after authorities would arrest my cousin, Wayne Braddy Jr, and his friend Karl Willis in the wrongful conviction of the murder of Maurice Purifie WITH NO DNA EVIDENCE AND A FALSE WITNESS TESTIMONY! For over 20 years Wayne and Karl have asserted their innocence.  You can learn more about their stories here. There are 6  chapters you can read along with video by WTOL11 Lead Investigative Reporter, Brian Dugger. There is another WTOL11 story about Karl Willis who contracted Covid-19 while in prison as well.

The Innocence Project : The Innocence Project, founded in 1992 by Peter Neufeld and Barry Scheck at Cardozo School of Law, exonerates the wrongly convicted through DNA testing and reforms the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice.

Youth Care YouthCare works to end youth homelessness and to ensure that young people are valued for who they are and empowered to achieve their potential.

Black Lives Matter Black Lives Matter Seattle-King County is a social advocacy organization fighting for the protection and liberation of Black Life through advocacy and direct action.

Ingersoll Gender Center Ingersoll is one of the oldest organizations by and for transgender and gender nonconforming communities in the United States. Officially formed in 1977, Ingersoll Gender Center has been building community, connecting folks to resources and advocating for our communities in the Puget Sound region for over four decades.

Hopelink Since 1971, Hopelink has served homeless and low-income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities in King and Snohomish counties; providing stability and helping people gain the skills and knowledge they need to exit poverty for good.

Food Lifeline Food Lifeline is on a mission to end hunger in Western Washington. We believe that access to food is a human right and that nobody deserves to be hungry. Food Lifeline provides nutritious food to hundreds of thousands of people facing hunger every year by sourcing nutritious food from a variety of food industry partners. We distribute this food through a partnership with 300 food banks, shelters, and meal programs, enabling us to provide the equivalent of 134,000 meals every single day.

Boys & Girls Club of America Providing safe and fun places for kids to grow and thrive while delivering engaging programs focused on academics, health, and leadership.

International Rescue Committee The IRC provides asylum-seeking families who have been released from immigration custody with critical aid. IRC reunites families post-detention, provide warm meals, clothing, transitional shelter, travel coordination with relatives in the U.S. and crucial legal orientation.
